Autobiography
Nicola Patrice Channer-Waite, born Nicola Patrice Channer in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica, is an accomplished individual with a rich history of academic and entrepreneurial pursuits.
Nicola's early recognition of her athletic prowess during her formative years at Manchester High School laid the foundation for her later achievements. As a student, she not only excelled academically but also demonstrated leadership qualities by being elected as the Student Council Vice President in 2003.
Post-graduation, Nicola ventured into promotional and bottle party modelling before participating in esteemed pageants such as La-Face International Faces of Summer and Pulse International Super Model, showcasing her versatility and talent in the fashion industry. Nicola Also participated in the Miss Manchester Festival Queen Beauty and Cultural Awareness pageant in pursuit of the coveted title to represent the parish of Manchester in the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Pagent Queen Beauty and Cultural Awareness pageant.
Determined to further her education, Nicola pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration through a bridge program between the University of Technology Jamaica and Knox Community College. Despite facing challenges, including a brief hiatus, she persevered, earning a B+ cumulative GPA and securing a full Athletics scholarship to the University of Technology Jamaica.
In 2009, Nicola married Daniel Salmon Orlando Lammie and subsequently migrated to Canada. Her resilience and entrepreneurial spirit led her to York University, where she successfully operated a student venture Glitters Fashion selling beauty cosmetics and supplies.
Tragedy struck in 2011 with the untimely loss of her husband, prompting a period of academic struggle and personal health challenges. Undeterred, Nicola utilized her time away from academic pursuits to plan and launch her own business, facing unforeseen obstacles but ultimately establishing a physical presence by May 2013.
Despite initial setbacks, Nicola's commitment to her business remained unwavering. A setback in 2013 necessitated a temporary closure, but this setback did not deter her. In 2018, Nicola married Miguel Angelo Renaldo Waite, and during her maternity leave in 2019, she returned to York University to complete her studies in Economics.
With two successful online stores, Couture De Beaute Inc. and Nikola le’Waite Inc., Nicola set her sights on furthering her education. In July 2022, she enrolled in the Master of Management Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at the Smith School of Business, Queen's University. Recognizing the need for an advanced degree, Nicola embarked on a journey with Atlantic International University, pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management. This strategic move aligns with her vision to expand her beauty cosmetic business into a cosmetology school and positions her to impart business expertise to adult learners.
